Working in small groups, students will partner with a local NGO or community organization to  implement a social action project. The project should address a specific social justice issue relevant to the community, aiming to create a meaningful impact. Students will submit a proposal, carry out the initiative, document their process and challenges, and present their work to the class.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

  • question 1

    I will provide a meaningful project that aligns with course learning objectives and student skill level through consultation with course instructor and ELOS team

  • question 2

    I will provide timely and appropriate support for students to complete the project, which may include sharing relevant resources, feedback, troubleshooting, or other appropriate means as agreed upon between ELOS and course instructor

  • question 3

    I will deliver a Project Launch (in-person or virtually) to introduce students to the Sandbox Project

  • question 5

    I will participate in a mid-point check-in to provide feedback and address questions if deemed necessary by ELOS and course instructor

  • question 7

    I will provide feedback to students by attending a final Sandbox Showcase presentation session or through other means as agreed upon by course instructor and ELOS

  • question 8

    I will complete the Sandbox Partner Evaluation Survey at end of term
